Submission of Manuscripts
Manuscripts sent to Boston BioEdit need to be completed by the authors and created with Microsoft Word® or Word Perfect®. The text content needs to be single sided, double spaced 12 point type using a standard font. This format allows us to edit the work efficiently and promptly and calculate our pricing (see below). It is not essential to send data figures with your manuscripts but we advise all of our clients to do so.
The fastest and most effective way of sending and receiving documents is electronically as an email attachment to: editor@bostonbioedit.com. Please submit email attachments either as Word documents or as PDF files. In addition, a submission form must be included with each manuscript. For email submission please complete the Word version of this form and include it as an additional attachment with your documents. A PDF version of this form is also available below.

Once we have received the documents we will contact you to confirm receipt of the manuscript. Most editing should be completed within 5-7 days.

Pricing for Japanese customers:
ACADEMIC RATES:
¥2800.00 per 300 words of text, ¥2500.00 processing fee (standard service 5-7 day turnaround).
¥4200.00 per 300 words, ¥2500.00 processing fee (express service 48 hours).
Reediting rate of ¥7000 per hour (standard) or ¥10200 per hour (express) plus a ¥2500.00 processing fee.
INDUSTRY RATES:
¥4400.00 per 300 words of text and a 5% processing charge for the standard service (5-7 day turnaround).
¥6600.00 per 300 words and a 5% processing charge for the express service (48 hours).
Reediting rate of ¥11,000.00 per hour (standard) and ¥16,500.00 per hour (express) and a 5% processing charge. (Industry clients will still continue to receive an academic price for their first submission).
Payments in Japanese Yen can be remitted through our US bank account, or by credit card via Paypal.com to our account.
All payment instructions will be sent with each invoice. We require that payment be received within 30 days of receipt of your edited manuscript.
Pricing for customers in all other countries (Academic scientists only-for industry rates please see below)
For academic scientists, we charge a handling fee of US$20 per manuscript to cover all processing costs. We will then charge US$24.00 per 300 words of text for editing and proofreading. The bibliography is not included in the total word count.
We also offer an express service (48 hours) which, if required, will be
charged at US$33.00 per 300 words.
For reediting, the rate is US$60 per hour ($80 per hour express rate).
Payments in US dollars can be remitted through our US bank, by check or money order in US dollars payable to “Boston Bioedit” or by credit card via Paypal.com to our account.
All payment instructions will be sent with each invoice.
We require that payment be received within 30 days of receipt of your edited manuscript.

Industry Pricing in US dollars
All first time industry clients will receive a special introductory offer of the academic rate for their first submission!
For industry contracts a handling fee of 5% of the editing fee is applicable per manuscript to cover all processing costs.
We will then charge US$55.00 per 300 words of text for editing and proofreading. The bibliography is not included in the total word count and an invoice will also be included with the returned manuscript.
The normal turnaround time is 5 days but we also offer an express service (48 hours) which, if required, will be charged at US$80.00 per 300 words.
Clients may choose to pay in Japanese Yen, which will be calculated from the published exchange rates at the time of completion of the work. Payments in either US dollars or Japanese Yen can be remitted through our US bank.
Payments can also be made by Check or Money Order in US dollars payable to “Boston Bioedit” or by credit card via Paypal.com to our account. Instructions will be sent with each invoice.
